Dr. Sukhendu Das is an Assistant Professor of English at Bankura University, India, specializing in posthumanism, Australian studies, and critical theory. He completed his Ph.D. in English from the University of Burdwan in 2025, with a dissertation on exploration narratives and cultural identity in the novels of Patrick White. His research engages with continental philosophy, the Anthropocene, animal studies, and cultural gerontology, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary orientation.
Dr. Das is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Entanglements: Journal of Posthumanities and plays a key role in advancing posthumanist scholarship in India. He is also the Founder and Joint Coordinator of the Centre for Research in Posthumanities at Bankura University and the Founder-Director of the Indian Posthumanities Collective. His academic career includes a Visiting Research Fellowship at the University of Wollongong, Australia, and an ICSSR-funded international conference on Shakespeare and cultural gerontology.
An active scholar, Dr. Das has published on Patrick White and related fields and has delivered numerous invited lectures on posthumanism, digital culture, and the Anthropocene across national and international platforms. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Posthuman Studies (Penn State University) and has organized several international conferences and lecture series, contributing significantly to contemporary humanities research and academic institution-building.
